SUDAN: Vulnerable girls risk sexual exploitation on Juba's streets

Irin news reports on the work of NGOs in southern Sudan supporting children on the streets of Juba. Confident Children out of Conflict ( CCC) works with vulnerable children through drop in centres, they highlight the growing number of children, in particular girls who are living and working on the streets. Girls are selling sex to survive making them extremely vulenerable to exploitation, violence and abuse as well as increasing their risk of HIV infection. Read article

The issue of Child sex workers on streets, has to be adressed collectively by community and Government as there are many issues to adress around the sex work of chidlren on streets like adressing poverty , litereacy rate, behavoiur change and largely with issues of sexual and reproductive rights of women and Adolsecnts girls.
